Ticket - reserved lane
Hello,
Thank you so much for the effort and the service you are providing, it is nice to know that I’m not alone sharing these frustrating situations.
In my case, this morning happened while I was taking my kid to daycare. I was turning right on a big street not knowing the right lane was a reserved lane. However, as soon as I finished turning I realized I was on a reserved lane so I directly do right turn to get in a parking lot as to clear lane. As I was getting back to go the main street (the middle lane this time), the police officer stopped me and gave me a ticket.
Now I understand that this was a reserved lane but I could only see it once I got onto that street and I made a reasonable effort to get out of that street by getting into the parking lot (within 2-3 seconds) instead of blocking the lane waiting for the rush hour cars to let me in the middle lane.
Do you think I have a chance to make that argument at the court and win?
Thank you so much for your help!

i would say yes
since you can’t really notice until your in it, and sign are not that close
but there are difference on the line setup on the ground
and some case tend to say tend running around 100ft in that lane for murging and turning is acceptable (but that not a law)
but if you fight it get your numbers straigt not 2,3 seconds not sur
go back and check the exact disatnce pattern sign and delay to travel

Hi. I am in the process of a contest myself for a very questionable infraction. If the case is as you explain, absolutely, you should contest. Also, no need to provide any further explanation wit your plea of no guilt. You will go to court anyway. I provided information in a case that was obviously not even an infraction, but rather a misunderstanding by the officer of the traffic signs at location, and still ended up in court.
Important to prepar your case. Pictures are good. Explain the situation and your actions. You made all possible efforts to get away from the reserved lane. what else can be expected. Measure distance to sign, your traveled distance in the reserved lane, provide evidence that there is no sign before the right turn that should make you aware of the situation
Good luck
