Probationary licence quebec

Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013
My Granddaughter received her Probationary licence July 2012.   She was issued a speeding ticket in Nov 2012 (2 points) and just received another one April 2013 in Gatineau for going 71 in a 50 KM zone (2 points).
I advised her to plead not guilty to the second ticket to avoid the automatic suspension of her licence.    Still waiting to receive the court date,  is it possible in Quebec (Gatineau) to see someone prior to the court date and ask for a reduction in speed or whatever to reduce the points. Speeding ticket and demerit point

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

Hello,

I live in Toronto, Ontario.

In August 2012, I received a speeding ticket in Laval, Quebec.
The ticket says I was going 78 km/h in a 50 km/h zone; however, I was following the flow of traffic.

I have now received my court date and would like to take action.
I don’t mind paying the fines; I just don’t want the demerit points on my licence.
I don’t want this ticket to affect my insurance rates.

I should also mention that the officer did not speak one word of English.
I repeatedly told her that I don’t understand French and she kept speaking French.

Please advise.
What should I do next?
How can I get the points removed from my licence?

Hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you.

Demerit Point Accumulation

Tuesday, December 11th, 2012
Here’s my story for you;
Just over two years ago, I was pulled over for “excessive speeding” along the 720 East, entering the Ville Marie Tunnel.
The speed limit there is clearly posted at 70km/hr. Yes, I was speeding, among everyone else there – let’s face it, it is no secret that EVERYONE driving along the 720 (in either direction) is always speeding.
I increased my speed from about 75, to about 100km/hr.  Yes, stupid me. I was just following everyone else and making sure that some idiot behind me wasn’t riding my bumber. (Welcome to Montreal!) (more…)

Ticket for licence expired

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

Hello.  I just got stopped by the Montreal police today and given a $444 ticket for not having paid my driver’s licence renewal fees on time.  They didn’t stop me for any other driving offence.  I don’t know what happened, but I honestly never received a renewal for my licence (not that I can actually prove this).  I haven’t recently moved or anything, so it has nothing to do with that.  I received my car registration renewal notice in December – it was due January 31, and I paid it by postdated cheque on time.  I would have paid my licence at the same time had I have received it!!  I guess it would also have been due in January since my birthday is on January 23.  I think that I didn’t really think twice about it because we used to only have to pay our driver’s licence every 2 years.  So it didn’t even strike me as strange to have not received anything.  I obviously know now to expect BOTH renewals each year. Speeding ticket and never asked driver license

Monday, December 5th, 2011

hello,

here is my story :
I got a speeding ticket but the officer never asked for my driver license. He just gave me the ticket. I asked him to see the speed I was driving at but he didn’t answer. He completely ignored every question I asked him and just went back to his car.

should I contest this ticket ?

Licence expired since 3 days

Friday, January 21st, 2011

Nicolas didn’t get the notice for his driver’s licence renewal… He unfortunately got a ticket… And he is asking if there is a 48hours delay, since his licence was expired since 3 days only and that he paid for it the morning after…

Hello,
I am 19 years old and got arrested once (January 23rd) since my licence was expired since 3 days.

So I got a 438$ ticket. I never got the letter that reminded me that I had my licence to pay and so I didn’t waste any time and paid for it the morning after. I would like to know if there is a 48hours delay to prove that I did my renewal in order to void the ticket ???

Ticket and probationary licence

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

Ouf ! When you have a probationary licence, you must be careful to don’t get any tickets since the numbers of points are limited…

Ticket and probationary licence don’t go well together… Talk about this to Frederic…

I just got caught and got a 1195$ and 14 demerit point ticket (930+255+10) and I have my probationary licence… what should I do ? I will have my 15 points in August, but on my probationary I only have 1 point left (I lost 3points in last April) and I already am contesting 2 tickets (2 points 130 in a 100km/h zone) and (3 points, sure of winning) ? I just don’t want to lose the points.

How to avoid the losing of a probationary licence

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

Jérome risks losing his licence since he got caught for excessive speeding when he droved down a hill… is there any way to contest effectively the ticket ?

A few tips on how to avoid the losing of a probationary licence…

His story :
***************************
Hello,

On April 27th, I got a 118$ ticket and two demerit points for driving at 77km/h in a 50km/h zone.

The problem is that I only have my probationary licence and I only got 2 points left. I will have my real licence on March 2nd 2011, so in about 10 months. I would like to contest in order to win some time and get the points on March 2nd. The thing is that I don’t know if I have a valid reason to contest the ticket in front of the judge. (more…)
