I am just coming back from the municipal court where I was recognised guilty of driving on a red light. I still can’t get over this. I am 100% sure that I am not guilty with proof of it.

Don’t be fooled, it is not my self-pride that is affected. It is about the incomprehension today. First of all, let me tell you about my infraction. I was driving on the Chemin St-Foy towards Cap-Rouge at about 45km/h on a rainy day. At about 10 meters of the intersection (that is 42 meters), the green light turns yellow. Since I can’t stop my car, I drive towards. The thing is that the yellow light last about 3 little seconds only, so I didn’t pass the completely trough the intersection when the light turns red. Except the officer that was there pulled me over and gave me a ticket.

Do the maths, I could do anything! Even if I slowed down, I couldn’t have get trough the intersection. I was trapped! I was clear about it! It was true that I was nervous, but I told the facts the right way. I COULDN’T STOP !!! NOT POSSIBLE !!! What can’t they understand? Maybe the procurer was more interested in winning then in knowing the truth ? (more…)

Ouf! Much more then a simple ticket… he got 4 law count of indictment… But how to contest a law count of indictment ? It seams already too late in his case…

Hello Mister or Madam, I have a lot of question to ask you about the criminal and a lot of things to say.

I will explain to you the story of the events :

Near 4:45pm on April 26th 2009, I was driving on the Chemin du Golf, a street, to get at my home. We saw a 1995-1998 Ford Windstar van that was at a really low speed under 30 km/h in a 50km/h speed limit zone and I followed him all the way to my place. We saw the van of MISTER X driving very slow, fast, then very slow. At the bridge, on the Ruisseau Street, he stopped on the bridge for no good reasons for about 15 seconds. And we saw that there was nothing in front of Mister X so I honked the horn to warn him to keep on going. He drove about 4 meters and put quickly the breaks for no good reasons and I almost hit his bumper I was 1 feet away. Mister X got out of his van and scream at me like a crazy person he was threatening me with his fist. I decided to drive pass him by the left side and then we heard a big “boum” mister X hit my truck with his fist on my truck. (more…)

Hello everyone,

What follows happened on December 11th 2009 near 10pm, on a Monday night.

I was driving in Sherbrooke with a friend in a zone where the speed limit is 50km/h. The other drivers around me at that moment where driving at around 70km/h. Being distracted and carefree I drive at 85km/h.

This is when I see in my rear-view mirror a police car with his flashing lights on. I pull over immediately saying that I must be the one that is guilty since I was speeding.

After checking my papers, the officer tells me that I was driving at a 90km/h speed and that with the new BES sanction, the fine’s double and the consequences are more severe.  Even if I have a hard time thinking about it, the officer comes back to my vehicle with a 350$+128$ fees and + 10$ contribution for a grand total of 488$. My opinion :

You will need to ask the Court… and see if they consider you motif reasonable enough… You will see their numbers to joint hem on the hearing convocation that you got… Keep us up dated and happy vacations !

I got a ticket art. 368 csr :
Driver in front of a stopping sign did not cede the way to the vehicle on the other side of the road, so there was a danger for an accident.

The problem is that I don’t have the 3 points and if I plead guilty, I lose my licence.

I taught about contesting, but I think I have a good chance, since the proof against me is drawn on the ticket given by the city and it is inexact.

I was asking myself how to move the hearing to my city since it is at 120km from my place and I don’t want to go there, is it possible to move the hearing to my city ? Thank you.

After missing the court appointment, we automatically declared guilty… We need to pay the ticket and the court fees… But what about our demerit points ?

I contested a ticket, but couldn’t get to the hearing and I didn’t report it.

I was sent a judgment by the court and I paid for it. The judgment didn’t indicate if I lost my demerit points. Is it possible that I only had to pay the ticket and got no demerit point taken off?

The demerit points are manage by the SAAQ… you can get in touch with them to know your point status… if not you will know it when you will renew your drivers licence..

Hello,

I would like to know if there was a decision from the court concerning digital signatures.

I still got a delay to pay the extra fees.

I contest my ticket but I am afraid of the extra fees since I will not contest if I am called in since I know I am a lost case if the court decides that the ticket is valid.

When we drive by the same place for many years and suddenly the roadsingns and marking are modify and becomes more restrictive, we can easily get caught… Can we say that we had good intentions ?

Hello,

I got a ticket for big excessive speeding in a new marking zone. It’s right at the entry of the village, the zone goes from a 90km/h speed limit to a 50km/h speed limit. By the mid-June of 2009 (source verified with the ministry of transportation), the 50km/h zone was enlarge.

I rarely drive by in the area and on September 15 2009 I didn’t see the new roadsing. The officer arrested me and showed me the radar lecture of 92km/h. He told me that I was losing my licence right away for 7 days. I asked him more information and he told me that it was going to cost me 488$, 6 demerits points and that my fill will have this information for 10 years. So 10 years where, if I make an other big excessive speeding (40km/h over the speed limit) I will lose my license on the spot.

I work with my vehicle, so I tried and insisted on reducing the speed at 88km/h (speed that is not a big excessive speeding). The officer didn’t want to.

I wanted to plead not guilty and take an arrangement with the prosecutor for reduced sentence, but I just learned that this is not possible anymore.

I had my licence for 14 years and never got a ticket.

How could I reduce my sentence in court ?
And how much will it cost me if I win or lose in court ?

Here is my story for the ticket I got for a stop.

Date: May 31st at 8:15 pm.
Location: Coaticook, “T” intersection on Major and St-Jacques Sud Street.

I was coming back from Sherbrooke, it was a Sunday night and it was a bit after 10pm.

On Major Street, in Coaticook, right before the stop at the “T” intersection on St-Jacques Street, I put on my right flashing light.

I do my stop, I look on my left, no one, I look on my right, I see the lights on a vehicle that was going from South to North, I look on my left again, still nothing.

I turn on my right and a bit further, an officer pulls me over asking me if I knew I he was arresting me: I tell him that I have no idea and he tells me that I didn’t do my stop.

I was very angry and told him that I indeed did my stop. He then informed me that I could contest the ticket and I told him that I would do it. (more…)
